Amanda Murphy: Rulerwork Quilting Idea Book

Hey everyone!  My name is Amanda Murphy and I'm delighted to be back visiting Brewer's blog.  For those who might not know me, I'm a BERNINA Quilting and Longarm Spokesperson, teacher, fabric designer for Contempo of Benartex, embroidery designer for OESD, and pattern designer.  (Did I mention I love the BERNINA family?) Today I'm back to share my newest book with you - the Rulerwork Quilting Idea Book!

(This is the second volume of a series - the first being the Free-Motion Idea Book.)

 I LOVE using rulers in my own work in conjunction with free-motion.  The two go hand-in-hand.  Rulerwork saved me loads of time when I was quilting pieces from recent collections like Meadow Blooms, Slope, and of course the Meadow Dance Ruler Panel with its accompanying Guide that coordinates with the Beautiful Borders or Feather Focus Westalee Ruler Sets.

So I set about creating the type of book that l that I'd like to keep by my machine and it is chock full of ideas.  Want to know what you can do with a a simple straight line ruler? 

Or maybe with a set of circles?

Each section of the book concentrates on a different basic ruler shape (like those in the BERNINA sets) and there are step outs of each design so you can figure out how to execute them on your quilt top.  There are 59 designs in this book and each has different variations.

There are even free-motion filler ideas for each design!

When I teach, I always encounter people who have collected rulers, but aren't really confident with how to use them in their work.  They just need a quick, handy reference guide of possibilities.  This book addresses that need.
