Kimberbell: Do You Have A Love For Machine Embroidery?

If you've spent much time on social media, then you know that machine embroidery enthusiasts everywhere are talking all about the Kimberbell events that are being held at local quilt shops across the US. So how does your shop become certified to hold these popular events? Read on to find out more!

The Kimberbell Academy was introduced in the Fall of 2016 designed with an important goal in mind...To help support independent shops in growing their business with machine embroidery!

Shops who attend the 2 -1/2 day Kimberbell Academy at headquarters in Logan, Utah will become certified to teach any number of Kimberbell events in their shop. The event projects are technique-based designs, exclusive only to these events. Shops who attend the Kimberbell Academy become "Certified Kimberbell Shops"

At the Academy Shops will:

  • Become certified to host Kimberbell Events with exclusive new projects.
  • Learn the Kimberbell model for organizing & promoting machine embroidery events.
  • Learn simple & subtle techniques for selling products and machines, while teaching new skills.
  • Network with other shops & bolster both creative & administrative aspects of your business.

PLUS! Embroider several samples at the Academy so you're ready to go back to your shop and start planning and promoting your events! (Machines are also provided!)

Even though the program is still fairly new to the industry, over 130 shops have been certified to date, and largely because of consumer-demand more shops are scheduled to become certified over the next year and beyond. In fact, the February Academy is happening right now as this post is being published! Over 25 enthusiastic shop owners and educators are being treated to a couple of spectacular days of learning and fun with Kimberbell!

Why make your next event A Kimberbell Event?

  • We provide the exclusive kitted projects for the event that include: Kimberbell fabrics, buttons, ribbon, zippers & other embellishments.
  • We provide full-color, printed instructions for each of your customers & a power-point presentation for the instructor
  • We will send you a Kimberbell popup shop, with samples, at your events with special event pricing.
  • You will receive marketing and promotional support from Kimberbell headquarters.
  • You will receive our Kimberbell Machine Embroidery Event Planning Guide.

The Academy is an experience that you will never forget!  Here is what shop owners are saying.

"The Kimberbell team has created a unique and fresh machine embroidery event that my customers will love.  From the shop owner perspective, everything is ready to go; all I have to do is send out the marketing materials, provide lunch, and teach the event. Thank you Kimberbell for a fantastic new approach!"  - Cathy McKilip, Wish Upon a Quilt Raleigh, NC

This type of embroidery is most suitable for designing your projects since it also looks impressive but does not require a lot of time to create.
