Creativity and Inspiration

Creativity is such an amazing phenomenon!  It can transform a simple idea or material into a brilliant work of art.  Creativity can be inspired by so many things – an old button, a family photograph, a magazine, the changing of seasons, a new website… just about anything. The best part is that you never know where the inspiration for your next creative thought will come from!  

We’re fascinated by this concept and are continuously seeking inspiration for new projects, patterns and products and we know our partners, customers and Facebook fans are doing the same thing!  Truth be told, creative “blocks” can hit from time to time, so we’d like to offer some suggestions for recharging creativity and sparking inspiration! 

In a creative funk?  Try the following things:

• Check out online resources, such as blogs, google images and Pinterest.  BREWER^TM has a great Pinterest board you can view at http://pinterest.com/brewerinspires/
• Use social media as a creative tool!  Poll your customers and your friends, ask around, and brainstorm new ideas with your online community.  Join the conversation on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/brewersewing
• Browse through sewing, craft, or any of your favorite magazines – sometimes the smallest little detail in a picture can inspire an amazing idea!
• Look to other creative people for inspiration and attend crafting events. Don’t be afraid to pull ideas from other people.  After all, imitation IS the best form of flattery!
