Heart’s Delight — A Border-by-Border Block of the Month

Hi everyone!
I’m Amanda Murphy and I’m back on the Brewer blog today to show you some photos of my newest Block-of-the Month quilt pattern, “Heart’s Delight”.

Heart’s Delight is easy to kit because there are pictures of all the SKUs, which are from my Carina Collection plus Color Weave in white. Plus each month’s instructions are printed in full color on a separate page so you can separate pages to hand out each month if you choose.

Examples of block instructions
Because Heart’s Delight was originally conceived of as a teaching project, we cover a lot of techniques, starting with the bargello heart in the center of the quilt.

Next, we move onto the center borders, covering once side each month…

In the sixth month we work on simple appliqué medallions!

In the seventh and eighth months we work on the inner and outer borders, and the final month is devoted to assembly.

I pieced everything with Aurifil 50 wt. thread and appliquéd with Aurifil 28 wt. thread on a BERNINA 780. Then I quilted on the BERNINA Q 24 using Aurifil monofilment in the top and 50 wt. Aurifil in the bottom to save time by eliminating the need for color changes. It worked great!
I hope you all enjoy putting together Heart’s Delight and helping your customers master new piecing skills because you all are on the face of the industry and help strengthen it every day! I can’t say enough good things about quilt shops. Designers like me owe our business to you guys! THANK YOU! If you (or your customers) make something remember to share your work using the hashtags #carina and #benartex and #heartsdelight on instagram - even if you use a different line of fabrics, please share using #heartsdelight!
And thanks for letting me share with you! Happy quilting!
